The similarities are crazy. In DGM the Black Order and the Noah fight each other. The Order fights to protect while the Noah fights with ill thoughts in mind. In Karneval, 'Circus' fights the Kafuka (a dark hidden organization that does illegal genetic research) . 'Circus' being the good guys. The way the Noah makes their akuma is in a way similar to how the Kafuka make their Varuga.(Post-humans with special abilities.) The Millenium Earl takes advantage of his victims when the are weak and turn them into his pawns. The Kafuka gives their victims a pill that modifies poor humans into Varuga. To identify

D.Gray-Man and Karneval deal with fighting an opposing force that is threatening to them, or the world. They have kind of the same feel, except that the main protagonists are completely different. There are other characters that are similar though: Kanda (DGM) and Gareki (Karneval) and Lavi (DGM) and Yogi (Karneval) are the main ones.

Karneval and D Gray-man both give off a sense of elegance with their atmospheric setting. Some of the main characters are also known to have hidden pasts that are explored as part of the story. Both series has secret organizations with their own ambitions. And as their story progresses, we learn about the motives of their goals. There is a diverse amount of action that is also present in both series. Mystery also becomes evident as the story gets more complex. Recommended for fans interested in supernatural, fantasy, and adventure.
