Both series feature very brutal and detailed violence. They also focus on their characters' minds, issues and trauma. Chainsaw Man has very edgy and childish gags, but they seem more influenced by western humour so even non veterans can enjoy it.

Cataclysm. Attack on Titan and Chainsaw Man both feature a cataclysmic world full that is not only full of physical chaos, but also has deep underlying political issues, making for a depressive bonus it has to flare.
AOT doing this with Eren's life ripped from him even more than his loss of freedom already. CSM does this with Denji living the hardest life imaginable.
Both are good shounen manga with great action too them. AOT being more mature and military based, CSM being more mentally crazed.

If you like dark stories, politics, action, realistic characters, lot's of deaths, and psychological themes both do this well. Shingeki no Kyojin is the kind of story that brings you down with it's messages, not without hope but not optimistic either. Chainsaw man's fundamental message is simple, accessible, powerful, and uplifting. Thus, the contrast in mood between mostly depressing and mostly hopeful the two complements one another perfectly.

CSM is a great dark shonen that follows SNK in terms of violence, battles, suspense, mystery, and approach of complex characters with traumas, anxieties, and desires. You really get hooked on the first chapters and you feel that the story becomes more and more intense, so it’s hard not to want to read it quickly. Similarly, the death of characters is suffered a lot. I love both aesthetics and particular designs, they are very attractive, as well as the characters and their respective stories and personalities, without forgetting the amazingly drawn fights and action sequences.
