Both stories are shoujo staring a bold and and admirable heroine in an unusual living situation. Both gilrs are cared for by the male leads, and the romance is always present but slow to develop. Neither story concerns themselves too much with how many stereotypes are involved or whether the story is too episodic. They're just basic feel-good shoujo. The art styles and character's looks are not dissimilar, either.
