In both manga, the main protagonist is a male student who is both shunned and hated by nearly everyone in school. They are both ostracized for reasons that aren't their fault, with Toru from Iris Zero being an outcast for having been born with no special powers at all, while Tsumugi from Mukuchi na Bakemono is also an outcast because his parents are jailed murderers. Furthermore, only a handful or less than a handful of other students are even willing to approach them.
