Manly, strong and huge protagonist, who has past of trauma but still remains compasionatelly fighting for those dear to him.
Both are medieval fantasy stories about a massive, overpowered hero with has a tragic backstory. Helck and Guts both travel with a cast of various characters trying to fix their pasts.
Helck is mostly comedic and light-hearted in tone whereas Berserk is more somber and depressing.

The protagonist of both stories became strong through overcoming hardships throughout their lives. Both characters have tragic backstories full of pain and loss, and both stories have the occasional light hearted moments mixed in with dark elements (although Berserk is much darker). To me, Helck felt like a shonen version of Berserk.
