the main stories have a similar interaction between the seme and the uke. The uke is a quiet, unobtrusive, study geek who gets noticed by a cool, popular guy. the guy takes interest and holds something over the uke so that they can be together.
In my opinion, these two manga are very similar in their environment and couple pairing. Both are set in school with a popular boy being obsessed with what would be labeled as a nerd (intelligent, glasses wearing, good student). Both couples have a forced first encounter, initiated by popular character and accepted rather easily/naively by the receiver. Each manga spans more than just a few chapters. The development of the pairings and individual characters, in my opinion, are well fleshed out.
