The appeal of both Sekine-kun no Koi and Tsubakikan no Utsukushi Sugiru Garçon lie in their relationship-scarred, emotionally unstable, awkward, adorable, sweet, innocent, handsome, and just plain endearing slightly older male main characters. These manga will make the reader want to hug and console the characters as well as protect them, and we are lucky to see a few decent female characters who are able to offer a bit of that caring behavior as well as act as catalysts in the overall encouragement and growth of the males. Even though there are heavier issues and traumas in Sekin-kun no Koi and Tsubakikan no Utsukushi Sugiru
