In both stories, the main male protagonists suffer from a rather severe case of gynophobia or "fear of females". The two stories mostly deal with the protagonist trying (or being helped, as it is in Mayo Chiki) to overcome their condition via "shock therapy", i.e. sudden social contact with females. Both stories also have a popular, rich girl who plays a major role in the story, especially in the case of Zettai Joousei.
