Tears of a Lamb reminded me of Kodocha as I was reading it, although Kodocha in in elementary and Tears of a Lamb is in high school. Both have an energetic and kind of silly girl with pigtails who bothers a guy until they become friends. The guy comes across as scary to everybody, but the guys in the class idolize him. As the guy gets to know the girl better, he realizes that she isn't what she seems, and becomes curious as to her past, which she reveals to him over time.
