Kare Kano is better but the story is similar: A girl who hates boy because he's better than her or as good as her at school, and it turns out the boy loves the girl. ~___~
Both have a very similar background story. A guy and a girl goes to the same school and are at first "rivals", but the guy is of course secretly in love with the girl, and it goes on from there. Both are absolutely hilarious and exciting.
Special A is like the sister of Kare Kano. Similar Storyline, Similar way of how things turn out for the two main characters... and similar Characters. Kare Kano is longer,Special A is not. Special A has more boys, Kare Kano, more girls. One is newer than the other. Both are Romantic Comedies, with some of the slice of life genre.
