Very similar, except that in Hotchpotch Punch, it's kickboxing, and in Harukanaru Ring, it's pro-wrestling. In both stories, the girls are fascinated by women's martial arts. As rookies in their respective fields, the main characters don't have any particular gift for martial arts but experience growth as they defeat stronger opponents. Besides, there is a certain sexualization, even though Harukanaru Ring was first published in 1992 and Hotchpotch Punch in 2024 - it's still the same recipe with supple, bouncy, comically large breasts. Not only are the girls bodies objectified, their personalities are as well. Tsundere, dandere, kuudere.
