Both contain psychological battles, and the plots are similar. Art is also similar. I my opinion both are really good.
Both has the main character as a genius in trickery and deceiving people.
Also, the schemes always involves a large sum of money and the hero is usually accompanied by a naive and obedient sidekick.
The main difference is Usogui is more violent and involves yakuza etc, while Liar Game is with card tricks and games.
Both involve complex and psychological battles that may be hard to understand, but brilliant. While Liar Game focuses solely on the games, Usogui has a unique and in a way realistic theme that gamblers need at least the equal amount of violence as his opponent has in order to secure a "fair" gamble, or else the opponent will just use violence to gain what he wants. Because of this theme, Usogui has a battle aspect while Liar Game doesn't.
