Shokoku no Altair and Arslan Senki adapts war themes but also expands beyond that with affairs involving other conflicts not directly related to military. Both series crafts a story with thought provoking ideas with a cast of colorful characters.
Both stories follow a young boy (14-15) who want to create a world with as little blood-shed as possible. Both stories also feature the main character starting out on his own before slowly accumulating a group of diverse, entertaining, and interesting allies.
Just like Arslan Senki strategy is used to win battles that seem impossible, rather than your typical shouting, muscles, and sword swinging. In addition, both stories take place in ancient times and cover the history of unique countries.
