Both of the MC faced a tragic childhood in which led them being undoubtedly cold-hearted and almost inhuman. J possesses the beautiful face of Marilyn Monroe while Souma was treasured like a doll due to his ravishing looks. Also, I'd like to add that they have an interesting relationship with their father.
To sum it up, Sakura-gari and J no Subete have very morbid BL undertones, in which I think worked so well in both of the stories. These stories will leave you such a powerful impact on the reader.
