To me, it seems that Zetman is a modern spin on the themes originally used in Devilman. Both feature a main character who fights off an invasion of superhuman creatures while at the same time fighting to keep their humanity.
It's quite obvious that Zetman was heavily inspired by Devilman
The protagonists both love the thrill of fighting and they both aim to defend humans and defeat the monsters hidden under human skin even their transformations look exactly alike.They'ree both very entertaining and very gory, even though Devilman is shounen.
Zetman feels like a refined, modern version of Devilman.
The duo share in common a male teenage protagonist who has to fight against monsters who disguise themselves as humans and both main characters have the ability to transform into a demonic form themselves. There are points in both manga where the main characters question their actions and the consequences of them. The two main protagonists also have a prominent friend that plays a major role in their stories.
