JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 1: Phantom Blood

Old shounen from the times when violence was regular and usual for manga made for shounen demographic. Pure-hearted protagonist gets involved with a blonde-haired boy that has some unusual moral standards. By getting involved with this boy the protagonist ends up having to fight with monsters employing a kind of supernatural ability that lets him fight the monsters. The protagonist also changes from a wimp to a buffed man. Both titles are cult classic.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood and Devilman are extremely similar story wise, both being about a young boy and their defiant friend finding out about a mysterious mask which will grant a person with a supernatural power, then later haven grown up, the main characters will have to deal with the consequences brought by the powers of the mask.
Both of these manga fall under the same demographic. They feature a main protagonist who fights against supernatural creatures (vampires in JoJo, demons in Devilman). They also contain a lot of gore and violence.

Both very old and insanely inspirational for the future of manga. Similar art style and with demons/vampires appearing suddenly and the main character needing to get rid of them. Both are very short too.
