Taking care of a kid isn't easy. Both series has a realism feel in relating to parenting. There's comedy, drama, and even romance involved throughout their perspective stories. Along with that, we learn more about the characters through their interactions.
There is a shoujo feel to both series as well with memorable dialogues and a lighthearted tone to depict the atmosphere of being part of a family.
Both have a romance between a young working adult and a teenage girl. Because of family issues, they are together a lot (Taiyou no Ie they actually live together) and they try to help each other while falling in love.
Both are really fluffy and cute. There's an awesome best friend, as usual. They have to overcome the obstacle of "age difference" and whatnot to be together.
