The design of the monsters/ creatures are very similar to one another. Abara is a bit more gruesome/ dark and Chainsaw Man has more comedic elements.

The author of Chainsaw Man, Tatsuki Fujimoto is clearly a fan of Abara.
The devil designs in it are heavily inspired by the gauna designs within Abara , and some of the main cast of Chainsaw Man share a name with Abara characters (Denji and Nayuta).
Fujimoto even says that he hopes Abara gets an anime adaptation in the authors comment for chapter 82 of Chainsaw Man.
