Both Ibitsu and Higurashi have creepy female characters and paranoid male characters. Ibitsu is significantly shorter than the Higurashi volumes. Higurashi also has elements of a supernatural nature and some comedy. Both have frequent gory scenes. I've only pinpointed one of the volumes of the Higurashi series but they are all fantastic and have similar themes.
The franchise of Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni main genres are horror, psychological and mistery, not too different from from the manga Ibitsu, on retrospective the Watanagashi saga is the most similar between the two, both have the main suspect as a girl in love, to the point of obsession, there's many eerie moments where the paranoia gets it's ugliest face, there's many plot-twist where the story gets more convoluted and in general they're are both great horror manga and you should read them.
