These two stories have pretty similar elements.
The protagonists are cunning, manipulative yet sympathetic men who trust nobody but themselves to achieve their goals but who put on a charming facade to the world. Both their pasts were full of hardships that had greatly shaped them to be who they are now.
Also, both Twilight and Kazunari get married/engaged only to further their respective purposes and they're constantly wary of getting too emotionally involved with their wives. Yet they always end up acting impulsively and letting their masks slip off because they actually care.
