"Oshi no Ko"

It’s essentially a spiritual successor to Act-Age. Quite similar quality art, about acting and the industry, and also some great writing. It’s something to give us Act-Age fans something to put our faith in.

oshi no ko and act-age are both about the entertainment industry, and people in it doing their best to rise to the top. though oshi no ko branches out into more topics than just acting, you don't really feel it because they have similar writing styles throughout. if you're left with nothing to read after act-age's sudden cancellation, definitely read oshi no ko.

If you liked Act-Age, you will like this!
They both focus on acting but Oshi no Ko is more about the entertainment industry as a whole. Oshi no Ko is more revenge driven and focuses on various aspects of the entertainment industry from acting to directing to singing and dancing
Although the main characters are different and the style of story telling id different, you get a similar feeling when reading them. They both feature "acting" as a core concept, but oshi no ko delves more into the underground aspects that hinder an acting career, Act Age focuses more on surface level of becoming the best actor.

If you liked the details of acting in Act-Age, then you may like this. The first arc covers the work that is behind the idol industry, so while it is not necessarily acting, it still has similar vibes. What is particularly similar is the ongoing second arc, where the main character himself is an actor, and is looking to cover some similar ground to Act-Age in regards to acting and the acting industry. Check this out if the these elements are what you want to look for.

Acting manga with talented main character, the manga gives the feeling of how the world of acting is. It teaches a lot about acting and anime adaptation. It introduces a lot of talented actor and actress around them
Both cover the triumphant and bad moments of becoming an idol and generally seem to explore the same themes and topics.
The overall premise of the two series is very similar in how they show and inform the readers of the behind-the-scenes of the entertainment industry of Japan. The main characters of the two series is also pretty similar. They are both teenage actors that is dealing with heavy trauma, and are unknowingly evolving as a person at the same time they are evolving as an actor.
All in all, Oshi no Ko filled the deep void that the tragic end of Act-Age left me with.
Both manga are set on the industry world where MC works as an actor/actress.

Entertainment Industry
Showing what true Acting is
Both MC have to take Care someone other than themselves
Both Main Characters have Struggled in their Life
Both are relatively serious portrayals of how young stars navigate the Japanese entertainment industry, though Oshi no Ko is darker in tone. Those who were disappointed by Act-Age's cancellation may find something similar in Oshi no Ko, which is (at the time of writing) still ongoing with an anime planned.
Similar focus on acting.
Although Oshi-no-Ko has less focus on acting, and more on the entertainment industry at broad.
