In both stories, the main characters have lost their faith and trust in the world. It soon becomes evident that the only thing keeping them going on in life are their relationships with others, and even more importantly, the relationship they find with their special other. Though these stories are of different genre (shounen ai vs. gender bender), the romance in these two stories both give an outer-worldly feel to them that are hard to find in manga now a days. They prove that even when life kicks you down, love will always be there for you and help you get back up.
