In both series characters are slowly becoming friends (or reviving their old friendship, as is the case with Ano Hi...) being bound together by circumstances. Both series are filled with touching emotions and make the audience cry with good heartwarming tears.

Both shows involve a group of friends that work together to achieve an overarching goal. However, in both shows, the main premise rather focuses on the personal drama between each of the characters, with the goal acting as more of a way to progress the plot forward. There is also bits and touches of romance involved, although it's only for like 2 secs in Tari Tari
