Both series are very similar, in principal:
- Anime originals. (No manga, no LN)
- Groups of city/world-saving girls. One has magical girls, and the other has batman-girls using ability-enhancing drugs.
The only real difference is that Mahou Shoujo Madoka is very bloody and filled with gore.
