G Gundam is pretty much non-stop action. It doesn't quite have the comedy of DBZ, but if you're looking for a series that's all about the fights, this is a good one to watch.

G Gundam is the closest you are going to get to Dragon Ball Z in a Gundam series. The central focus is on combat between individual Gundams, complete with signature named moves and plenty of cheesy quavering eye close up reaction shots. In short, G Gundam is full of high energy combat scenes and entertaining melodrama.

Both series have non-stop action and adrenaline. The character designs are also similar. Both also have main characters who participate in fighting tournaments. The only difference is that Gundam has mecha fights.
