Both these Gundam series are about hot-blooded tournament fighting, pretty much. I couldn't tell you how many times I expected Sei and Reiji to execute a Shining Finger instead of a Build Knuckle, haha. If you enjoyed the duelling and the special moves in Build Fighters, then look forward to even more kungfu-esque action in G Gundam.
Both anime take a few episodes to get off the ground, but when they do, they're pretty darned good. Remember to watch these subbed though - the English dub of G Gundam completely fails to capture the spirit of the original and is rather cringe-worthy.
Manly Hot Blooded Mecha Combat Ahoy!
G Gundam and GBF contain large amounts of hot blooded hammy mecha action in the form of Gundam/Gunpla tournaments and has a large emphasis on the fighters soul being expressed during combat.
Oh and in the case of G Gundam watch it dubbed for maximum effect ( Mark Gatha is much better at Domon).
