Even though it might not look it at first both anime are kind of similiar.
Both have strong-willed heroines with no physical strength, even though Shuurei is much more clever in my opinion.
Both heroines have no clue whatsoever about love.
Both turn out to be more than the cliche reverse harem and include political intrigue as well as some action and adventure.
Both series show some unexpected plot twists.
Both offer a great deal more quality than the Angelique/Hanasakeru series (thank god <.<).
Both are reverse harem.
Both series have a female protagonist with a strong character, with heaps of bishounen surrounding her.
It's hard not to see how the two series are quite similar to one another..
First off, they are shojo anime sharing both drama and romance genre. They are reverse harem stories with a heavy political plot that surrounds the characters.
Both series have a strong willed heroine that is followed by a bodyguard, although smart both of the female leads are new to love and will experience it through their adventures.
Due the strong political element we can say that this type of reverse harem is a "brand new" and also a quite interesting one that deserves a try.
For sure if you liked one of these two

They both have politics and romance in them. Saiunkoku Monogatari is set in the past but history plays its part in Hanasakeru Seishounen as well. They're both a reverse harem (lots of guys liking one girl) and have a very similar feeling to them.

Like Saiunkoku, Hanasakeru Seishounen has it all that makes a great Anime ( not just in a sense of Reverse Harem): Drama, Action, Suspense, Romance and a hint of light comedy. Did I forget to mention all the good looking male leads too!

Though the settings are vastly different, both are reverse harem (Hanasakeru Seishounen moreso than Saiunkoku Monogatari), have strong political intrigue storylines, and have a determined, likeable heroine who is slightly clueless about the romantic polygons around her but undauntedly pursues whatever path she believes is right. Both heroines, though especially Shuurei of Saiunkoku Monogatari, give a very positive "girl-power" vibe without demeaning the men around them.
Similar main characters combined with a reverse harem and are both political themed. In addition to the similar story development, the stories have actual depth and are compelling, that while watching (and enjoying) one anime its a dead ringer the other anime should be your next anime to watch.

Both of the anime have a girl versus many guys. The guys in both anime are quite good-looking and interesting.
