If I could, I would just get people to play the original visual novels of these games instead.
Higurashi is the real bread winner, imo. The visual novel is one of the most eerie, foreboding pieces of media I have ever played. It does an AMAZING job of building up the world surrounding Hinamizawa and the mysteries surrounding it, constantly examining characters from fresh new angles. The anime is pretty accurate to the source material and definitely worth a watch, imo. Normal teenagers go crazy and kill each other. Great psychological anime.
Both are horrors that deal with killing and have strange art styles for the genre. The characters are slowly driven crazy by the situation they are put in.
Both are similar as in there's many deaths but its more murder mystery and the blood is pink (which I personally think it v original and cool). Its both very dark and lighthearted in a weird way for me. +a sadistic teddy bear so just by that you know this anime is amazing.
