Do you prefer your magical girls with spice instead of sugar? While both shows are brutal parodies of old school majokko, Dai Mahou Touge takes most of its inspiration from 80's "cute witch" shows (Minky Momo, Creamy Mami, etc.); Mahou Shoujo Kurumi, on the other hand, is obvious homage to Sailor Moon and early Pretty Cure.
