In my opinion, this movie is similar to Steins; Gate because Uchiage Hanabi is based on chaos theory (search it in Google for more information) Steins; Gate is based on the butterfly effect, a concept of chaos theory. therefore they are similar.
And Steins;Gate have romance. The protagonist have the chance to modify something in the past.
