It was during the second season I surprised myself thinking "Oh I have Gintama's vibe here, oh here too, oh crap just like Gintama's humour, Oh that face....looks like Kaguya or Gintoki".
Both have a similar humour sense, the dirty WTF vibe it can give you,
Both have similar weird face in fun situations,
Both deal about some violence/combat scenes.
Golden Kamuy have a deeper and darker scenario, Seinen Like
Gintama is more child friendly with a loooot more culture and funs moments.
Golden Kamuy seem like a darker mature gintama like with a real scenario and real goal.
Almost every single character in both of these shows can be described as a "lovable weirdo". The humor is quite similar in both, though Gintama is 90% humor and Golden Kamuy is 40%. The full casts are given decent attention, not just a few main characters. Good action mixed in with the comedy. They also both feature very interesting worlds and cultures, though for different reasons.
Although Golden Kamuy is not properly, in essence, a comedy it has many slapstick Gintama-style moments. And both Sugimoto and Shiraishi (GK) resembles, somehow, the naturally permed silver hair guy (Gtm). There are other similarities that involve historicity of the modernization of Japan. One is more like a reimagination à la Tarantino (GK) and the other is a kill-time space parody (Gtm) but both are a grotesque aproch of the past.
Story wise it's nothing like Gintama but if you like Gintama's comedy then you'll love Golden Kamuy. The humour is on the same level while sometimes it can be more 'perverted'.
Characters in both shows are also written fantastically, there's a character for everyone to like!

Both have amazing plot/story even though comedy is the main front

Very similar type of comedy, Golden Kamuy doesnt have as many references but still
Awesome set of characters, very charismatic, funny, and great in general
very interesting plot with a good mix of comedy and serious moments
If you enjoy Gintama you should give Golden Kamuy a chance
