Although Stranger: Mukou Hadan is not a comedy anime and Gintama is mainly a comedy, both have the same vibe, atmosphere, era, and great sword fights. If you liked serious arcs of Gintama, you probably like Stranger: Mukou Hadan as well. I highly recommend both to watch if you like the samurai theme.
I am surprised no one else recommended this. First off, both are samurai anime. Secondly, both have awesome and really similar sword fights. Though Gintama is mainly a comedy, still the more serious parts of the series are very much similar to this movie. Also, both have some very similar characters...
