Similar amount of "seriously wtf" humor.
The two characters in Senyuu are very Hijikata and Sougo like... and so if innocent killing and stabbing of another innocent person amuses you... they are very alike.

Both have really similar way of making comedies through dialogue, though, of course, apart of that there's nothing else in common. But either way, if you like Gintama's comedy, you'll like Senyuu too.

Both series focus on boke and tsukkomi type comedy with a big cast of funny and interesting character. Both series will make you laugh a lot, sometimes so much that you have to pause an episode, just to catch your breath.
Senyuu is rather an underated anime, because of it's art style i guessed. But don't let the cover fool you, in terms of comedy i'd say it's comparable to gintama. Except the duration of senyuu is rather short, but it is really are worthy of enjoyable short moments.
-Ross is just like Gin, both are excel in trolling their partner Alba/ Shinpachi.
-Alba/Shinpachi would always be the most talkative person in series, of course in a humor way.

- Gintama and Senyuu seem to parody other anime in popular genres. Shounen and superpowers. As well as maki fun of other popular anime titles (E.G Death Note.)
- the characters share very similar personality traits. Not necesarily past and development, but their personality is somewhat similar.
- the humor in these anime is similar. The humor that isn't popular seems to be on similar topics and is set up in a very similar manner.
