The similarities between these two great series are evident.
Average Japanese guy gets involved with a not exactly legal organization due to a dangerous girl; his life changes completely, and his innocence fades more and more as the story progresses.
Both anime are mature and violent, with a dark and bleak feel, supported by mostly solid animation and music. Add shootouts, mafia and rotten people, and you'll get some real entertainment.

Both anime are about a rather nice and innocent person drawn into a world of crime. Both anime are rather heavy with little sugarcoating.
Both are about killers trapped in the middle of a war of interest between criminal organizations. Both have a dark theme, cold hearted, and awesome gunfights.
These series both series have a very dark feeling to them. There is plenty of blood and violence and great action to keep you entertained in both series.

Innocent Japanese guy betrayed by superiors and becomes mercenary outlaw. Gun toting asian hottie works with him. Different from Phantom because you get more of the sense the Black Lagoon crew have some moral standards. Still, fun, violent romp through the darkness.

The atmoshere is really close. Both are realistic. Those are great manga. There is no question of superpower or surnatural, but about choises of life.
Both are great anime. I really enjoyed to follow them
Guns, mafia, crime and a guy who has nothing to do with that getting involved.
Normal Japanese guy meets gun-crazy world of crime, and excels. Black Lagoon is mostly excuses to blow shit up, and Phantom has a bigger story with action interspersed.
Lots of guns!

Two Japanese men get suck into the underground world of gangs, violence, drugs. They even have reminiscence yakuza plots in both series. They differ prominently in the character section, phantom having bland characters while black lagoon's cast is more creative, exuberant, and enjoyably funny.

Black Lagoon and Phantom have a lot of similarities. Although Black Lagoon seems a lot more light hearted at times with more humor and some awesome action, Phantom has a special kind of story. Both are pretty mature, but they are incredible in their own ways.
Similarities between the MC from both series and the dark, violent atmosphere, on top of that both series involves guns, gangs, blood and tragedy.
Action with gun shooting.
Zewi and Rock Both in a situation that they have to work in a gang, in order to stay alive.

Both Main Characters are abducted as well as both involving the criminal underworld
Both anime have some complex characters and both involve mafia-like organisation. Phantom : Requiem for the Phantom is a bit darker than Black Lagoon but the characters are also more interesting.

Both shows deal with hired guns, who are involved with acting as hitman for higher up gangsters. In both cases, the MC had a normal life but eventually is coaxed into joining the main group

In both Black Lagoon and Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, the main protagonist gets involved in the criminal underworld after something happens to him. The main protagonists, Rock and Zwei, look and sound slightly similar as well. Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is much darker than Black Lagoon, however.
