CANAAN and Black Lagoon have very much the same feel to it.
Both the main characters are bad-ass women with guns with a lot of good action, both series are mainly located in a urban city in China and are well illustrated.
They both have a sense of dark organizations doing things behind the scene, though Black Lagoon has it less and doesn't have any fiction things (like non existing viruses and such)
CANAAN and Black Lagoon are both very awesome series to watch if you like action and gunfights.
Violence, women, violent women, need I say more?

Girls with guns, intense action, and people actually dying when shot. Both main female leads are skilled with guns and are very agile.

Both are equally good in their fight scenes, and the protagonist of both of these animes both uses guns in a non-human-like manner. Though I'd say that black lagoon is more coarse in it's language but at the same time, funny to a certain extent.
If you enjoyed the action scenes of Black Lagoon, you'll probably enjoy Canaan. Although Black Lagoon deals with different stories every 2-3 episodes, Canaan centers more in its original premise. Both are recent anime with great animation and sound quality, and the opening songs (Red Fraction from BLagoon and Mind as Judgement from Canaan) are awesome. Watch'em both! :D

* Both have pretty awesome fighting scenes...
* Plenty of crazy supporting characters ( for example Hakko & Roberta )

Another gun-slinging, depressing storyline. Lots of action and firefights. Revy and Canaan are pretty similar characters.
The graphics are with the same quallity, have a strong female lead.Both are of the action/seinen type.
A brief look into the criminal underworld that's held together by the charisma of 2000's action anime. The stories are portrayed from the eyes of an innocent, naive outsider as their connection to a ruthless, gun-wielding girl escalates. Lots of action and gun fights are sprinkled in to ramp up the entertainment, but the main draw is the two girls (Revi or Canaan), their mysterious pasts, complexities, and strong attitude.
