Nana is a great romance story even as a standalone anime, with even much more in the manga. Because it has the airing time to deliver much more about characters and story it's bigger and richer than Citrus. Both are doing wonderful job of showing and exploring feelings and relationships in more than less believable and realistic settings. While Nana is about straight couples with build up and no fillers, Citrus is a shoujo ai and a short one of only 12 episodes.
