Both are about an outcast of a girl that ends up forcing a guy to tag along with her for helping her with stuff (Haruhi: Helping with her SOS Brigade | Toradora!: Mainly just supporting her). Some aspects of the art are also similar.
Happy go lucky little girl punches average boy around - not wanting to realize he is something special to her. School live, implied romance, violent main female. Funny. :)
Both have a girl who controls boy.Both boys think they like another girl, though they like the girl who controls them.
Likeable tsundere female leads are the strong points of these animes. Haruhi and Taiga shine so brightly they will make you overlook the parts of the story which might be less interesting, repetitive or even annoying. No less could be said about the supporting female characters that are parts of a ''group of friends''. You will go through many different types of adventures with characters in both titles.

A responsible male protagonist finds himself meeting a crazy girl who starts dragging them around into all sorts of situations. While the way the plots of these two animes develop is quite different, the characters share similar personalities, the settings ae similar, and both anime certainly transmit a sense of melancholy into the viewer.
