- Both involve supernatural happenings, although Haruhi’s are much less frequent.
- Both are more akin to collections of short stories (episodic) as opposed to one larger overarching plotline.
- Both originated from Light Novels.
- Both involve little to no romance, as whatever feelings there are get overshadowed by the protagonist’s hesitancy to get too close to anyone else.
