Both main female leads are domineering and somewhat naive gods, and both animes are slice of life.
Sure, they both have similar characters, supernatural circumstances, and both are hilarious comedies but Kannagi is really one of the few animes that are good enough to compare to this colossus and a potential candidate for best comedy/romance of the year. I hope they make a second season because I will be looking forward to it as much as I am looking forward to season 2 of Suzumiya.
Both are comedies with a high-school aged cast. Both have eccentric and hilarious female leads with a straight-man comedic companion.
Both shows have loveable characters and is filled with pure comedic genious...It's like watching Scrubs or Arested Development. You could say they are both post-modern romantic comedies. It's got parody and a lot of 'breaking the 4th wall'. I love the interactions between Haruhi/Kyon & Nagi/Jin:)
The show includes HEAPS of fan service, which is great considering how cute Nagi is.
So if you like Haruhi, then you'll love Nagi...
the same storyline and atmosphere: random 'God' who is contained in a schoolgirl's body, and is energetic, confident, crazy which gets involved in trouble and creates weird situations out of normal life and school. no real storyline, normal innocent good guy who gets caught up in all the crazy plans.

Both of the series' main character is a very talented in singing but has weird / unusual / extrovert mind and want everything done their way... both are very fun to watch :D

Both main female charecters are infatuated with themselves and are gods. Kannagi shows the same random plot turns that seemed to devlop with haruhi.
I enjoyed watching both series.

Both kannagi and haruhi are nice anime that are both comedy and sort of sci-fi and that both the main char have the same attitude (haruhi and nagi)..
In general same type of show-->supernatural, comedy, slice of life anime with dynamic female leads that change the male leads lives.
Furthermore they contain some romantic moments without belonging to the romance genre. Both of them have lively and colorful art style and cheerful and catchy music.
But the main similarity is in the plot goddess and common human affect each other, have a unique relationship.
Same kind or characters. 12-14 episodes for each serie. Some paranormal stuff occuring, a great ending. What more do you expect ? :p

The same humour. Both have little magic, they are about school life and a selfish girl who makes a boy do everything she wants.
Both shows have 'kamidere' characters, Nagi and Haruhi Suzumiya as well as both shows including a straightman MC, Jin and Kyon which is very similar to 'tsukkomi' in 'manzai' style in Japanese culture.
Both shows are slice-of-life comedies, and if you enjoyed the humour in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, the comedy in Kannagi is similar (parodying otaku culture, 'moe', etc).
There are also supernatural antics that occur in both shows and in addition, both female leads are quite good singers.
