Kiba is set in another world while SAO is set in a virtual reality - they share the concept of being transplanted from one reality to another.
They are both shounen and have a great deal of action, adventure, and enough enjoyment to keep you jumping from one episode to the next. Kiba, unlike SAO, does not crap out at the end and begin another horrible story arc that tries hard to be as good as the first half, however.
They remind me of each other and everyone that enjoyed SAO will enjoy Kiba.
