LGBTQI+ representation in anime is rarely done correctly, which is a shame given the impact that discrimination has on our daily lives. Fortunately, Bloom Into You and Wandering Son exist, one dealing with lesbianism and aromanticism/assexuality, and the other with transgenderism, with stories that are as beautiful as they can be almost painful to watch at times due to their realism.
These animes question us on our human identity, through slice of life/drama/romance, and a pacing that takes its time to build correctly its characters and its story.
