If you liked
Hourou Musuko

...then you might like
Doukyuusei
|
- Soft, muted colour palette
- Drama portrayed in a similarly lighthearted (but not frivolous) way
- Decidedly more genuine take on LBGT stories compared to other shows, though Dokyuusei is much more idealised with romance as the focus
- Refreshingly twinkly music
Both Doukyuusei and Hourou Musuko are about LGBT related topics, and unlike a lot of other anime about LGBT topics out there, they're both pretty realistic and down-to-earth. There's no awful fetishization, and although Doukyuusei is more of a typical BL, it's still touching and is nice to watch if you want to feel warm and cozy. Hourou Musuko is more of a slice-of-life anime, but it revolves around transgender issues and about what it's like to be growing up and being confused about who you are. If you want to watch something that's calm, heartwarming, and about being LGBT, I'd recommend both of these!
