Even though the settings are different (LOGH is a space opera whereas KNK takes place in an alternative WW2 setting) both series can be described as epic political-military thrillers. They both involve a large cast of (mostly male and adult) characters that get involved in large-scale conflicts spanning several years. KNK features probably more battle/action scenes than LOGH but I'm sure if you liked one you'll enjoy the other.
