There is this same feel, mainly because of a narrator. Cao Cao in Souten Kouro also is a charismatic leader like Reinhard. And he fights his opponents with his inteligence like Reinhard, although sometimes he just comes and chop peoples heads off too.

These two series are hidden gems of anime. Souten Kouro 9 episodes in is starting to have a LOGH: Ancient China vibe. You have various charismatic men leading factions with the goal of supreme conquest. Most of them using strategy and outwitting opponents rather then beating them with sheer power, not to say they couldn't. Loyalty, comradeship, and brotherhood play big parts; as do rivalry, jealously, and betrayal as Cao Cao, Reinhard, and Wenli must not only survive the battlefield but their respective political brass at home conspiring against them.
