They are both anime about a creative group of rather unusual girls. I think they are interesting/ intended for the same kind of people, that want to see how female characters come out of their shell and do something that amazes other people. For me, both needed some time to grow on me.

They are similar in their depictions of young women as being nerdy, instead of being the typical anime-esque female characters. They revolve around girls who spend time together engaging in their different hobbies and working together to create anime/manga. The protagonist is an otaku of some kind who is also a bit awkward.
