These shows are similar in the sense that they are opposites. The MC in Yojouhan wants a Rose-colored life, while MC in Hyouka doesn't want that. Their journey has something different in it's mind for both of them though~ Both of these shows are about the characters, about growth and love.

- Both tackle this concept of the ‘rose coloured life’ and the protagonists journey to discover it.
- Both have superb direction and visual story telling.
- Both are very dialogue heavy.
That’s pretty much where the similarities end though, these shows are mostly distinct from each other and offer very different perspectives on the ‘rose coloured life’. Hyouka takes place in a high-school setting whilst The Tatami Galaxy takes place in a college setting.
