Blue Period

Both anime has a protagonist who is obsessed with improving themselves. Both animes are about hard-working and trying to reach their aim. Also, story-telling is enthusing and makes you influential.
Bakuman is somewhat similar to Blue Period. Two middle school guys team up to create a popular manga and to get an anime adaptation. Bakuman presents the struggles that come with publishing a manga and what really happens behind those manga panels. It also has a romance subplot.
Although "Blue Period" does not contain a love story (which is a guideline in Bakuman), it will show us the different stages necessary to learn drawing and painting. These two anime show how to get into an artistic profession where it is difficult to make a place for yourself. They also show the impact of the protagonist's choices on his social environment and the problems that this creates.
