Both series are about young men meeting and coming to live with an alien (coincidentally both aliens have long blond hair and kind of similar character designs). Although Arakawa is more comedy focused, the comedic moments of Level E feel quite similar, as do Arakawa's dramatic parts.

Both animes have the same humor level. They are both all over the place with their stories and have something to do with aliens or weird different species. The are both unique in the sense of their stories, they make fun of odd things and have a lot of similarities.

This boths series have a sense of humor, very surealistic, show things that could never happend, but in some way they make a very good plot around it

Level E with its bona fide visitors from space who pretend to be regular men and women, or Arakawa Under the Bridge with regular men and women who... sheesh, they aren't regular at all! And both worlds will explore just how multiple kinds of humans - or aliens - can mingle together. Regular and irregular. Socially adept and absolutely not. In the city or under a bridge.
