Both series features a main character where they try to hide their real self from their classmates. There is the supernatural element in the story as well as drama, comedy, and action.
Additionally, in both series, the world contains the supernatural involving demons where the main protagonist fights with the help of his friends. They also learn the dark past of other secrets as episodes progresses and resolves ways to stop their adversaries.
Both of these anime have main characters who turn out to be demons.

As both of them revolve around demons (yokai) and the main character are both in their teens so they can both be related with each other in that sense. They both have their funny moments and the two main characters Rin and Riuko both fight with a katana.
The main character of Nurarihyon no Mago has a similar problem as Rin: they both have demon blood but they want to live a human life.
They also are desperated for protect theis friends and family.
They both have demonic powers and a little personality problems with his demon counter-part.
Even if Ao no Exorcist is based on European folklore (with Satan) and Nura places it on a Japanesse folklore (with youkais), the main characters are similar and the draw is as well good.
They include good secondary characters and a non defined enemy at all.

The two of them take place in the world of demons.Rin(Ao no Exorcist) and Nura Rikuo(Nurarihyon no Mago) are the protagonists who at first dont know their demon powers but through events they learn them and try to protect their loved ones using these powers.The differencce between these two is that Rin unleashes his powers through his sword while Nura is a 1/4 demons and his power comes naturally.

The two protagonists (Rin and Rikuo) are part demon part human and uses a katana as a weapon. They also change appearances during a fight scene and tries to hide their true selves which are their demon side. Even though they are only teenagers, the two of them are very powerful but all they want is to protect the ones they love.
The biggest difference between both of them is that Rin (Ao no Exorcist) is trying to fit into human society and wants to become an exorcist despite being a demon himself. As for Rikuo (Nurarihyon no Mago), he is indecisive about whether he wants
