The main similarity is the Youkais. Both anime's main characters are school students, who got caught up in conflict with yokais.
There's a lot of supernatural action and comedy and a little romance in both of them.
Both storylines revolve around yokai (demons).
Both shows have 2 seasons with an equal amount of episodes.
Both shows have a very similar tone.
Both of them have common rates, like the human side fighting the yokai and the yokai trying to maintain their position. Moreover, the main antagonist is a great danger to both sides and has been since ancient times and now it is up to the main character to defeat them.
